The CarPort Cafe & Bikash

The Carport Café, led by Bikash in Cannon Hill, holds a special place in the Sunlight Centre’s story. In Sunlight’s early days, Bikash generously provided a private space within the café so Sunlight could begin seeing its first clients. That early support helped create the foundation for what Sunlight has grown into today: a community-based charity providing free counselling, mental health education and practical support for people in distress.

Lord Mayor's Charitable Trust - Brisbane

The Lord Mayor’s Charitable Trust has supported Brisbane charities for more than 70 years, helping improve the wellbeing of vulnerable and marginalised members of the community. Through its grant support, the Trust helps grassroots organisations like the Sunlight Centre deliver practical projects and services that strengthen local community wellbeing.

Transurban Community Grants

Transurban supports local communities through its Community Grants Program, providing grants of up to $10,000 for projects that bring social and environmental benefits to communities in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Through this support, Transurban has helped the Sunlight Centre deliver community-based mental health education and practical support that benefits people living and working near its road networks.

Bunnings Cannon Hill

Bunnings supports local community groups through its well-known sausage sizzle fundraising program, with 100% of funds raised going directly to the participating community group. Easts Leagues Club has a strong local presence in Brisbane and a proud connection to community sport, events and local engagement. Gambling Community Benefit Fund

The Gambling Community Benefit Fund is Queensland’s largest one-off community grants program, distributing approximately $60 million each year to not-for-profit community groups. Through GCBF support, the Sunlight Centre can strengthen its facilities, resources and program delivery, helping provide practical mental health support and education for the Queensland community.
